Liverpool boss Arne Slot is now the second favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked after his side suffered a sixth defeat in seven games on Wednesday night.

The Reds manager is priced at 4/1 to be the next top-flight boss to lose his job, with Liverpool slipping to seventh in the table and now out of the Carabao Cup.

It marks a dramatic downturn for Slot, who guided Liverpool to a Premier League title in his debut season after arriving from Feyenoord in the summer of 2024 to replace Jurgen Klopp.

The Dutchman made an incredible start to life at Anfield, winning 18 of his first 20 games and suffering only one league defeat before April as Liverpool surged to the top of the table.

This season began in similar fashion, with seven straight wins to open the campaign, but recent weeks have seen a stunning collapse. Six defeats in seven matches now represent Liverpool’s worst run since 2009, and questions are beginning to mount about whether Slot can steady the ship.

The 47-year-old opted for minimal recruitment in the summer transfer window, trusting much of the same squad that won him the league title, but fatigue, injuries, and a dip in form have all combined to derail their season.

Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures make for grim reading, with Aston Villa, Real Madrid, and Manchester City all on the horizon — three high-pressure tests that could define Slot’s future in the Anfield dugout.

Elsewhere in the sack race, Vitor Pereira remains the clear favourite at 2/5, despite signing a new three-year deal with Wolves last month. Daniel Farke, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Marco Silva are each priced at 10/1, while Enzo Maresca is further back at 16/1.
